As you meet with architects, designers, government officials, subcontractors, and others, be prepared to answer the questions below. Those you work with will certainly come up with more questions, but knowing these answers will save time as you begin planning.

• Will the locations of any electrical or plumbing fixtures change?
• Do you want a separate shower and tub?
• Are you adding a jet tub?
• Does your home need new water pipes or drainpipes?
• Do you need a larger bathroom?
• Do you want additional electrical outlets?
• Will the bathroom be located conveniently to serve the bedroom(s)?
• What surface materials do you have in mind: Ceramic tile? Vinyl? Solid-surfacing? Stone?
