Living and Family Room Addition Planning
A list of questions to think about before meeting with architects, designers, and others who are working on your living or family room addition project
Living or Family Room Additions
As you meet with architects, designers, government officials, subcontractors, and others before starting your living or family room addition, be prepared to answer the questions below. Those you work with will certainly come up with more questions, but knowing these answers will save time as you begin planning.
- Do you want the new room to open to other rooms?
- Will there be exterior doors? Should they have any windows?
- Are you adding a window wall?
- Are you adding a fireplace? Gas or wood? Will you build a hearth area with a mantel?
- What kind of floors do you want: Carpet? Hardwood? Laminate? Ceramic or stone tile? Concrete?
