Cantilevered Stairway

Designers refer to repeated patterns as a visual rhythm. Such patterns create movement and strengthen the design statement of a room. This daringly cantilevered stairway climbs to the highest levels of craftsmanship. Visual rhythm is created via the stunning balustrade.

I would like to know where to purchase the materials for the stairway. I'm far from being rich & I'm on a fixed income, but that doesn't mean I can't consider installing this stairway on asmaller scale.

These are certainly beautiful homes, but what is needed are solutions for the millions who have 80's type subdivision homes. for instance, how do you cover up the hideous builders ceilings? The workmanship leaves far to be desired. It is semi-traditional on the outside and lacking any architectural interest on the inside. I am striving for a clean modern traditional look but none of the slides above address the fact that 80's subdivision homes are typically lacking in design focus

These rooms are great inspiration. You don't need to live in a mansion to take away some of the architectural ideas presented here. How about adding a sky light, taking out a window and replacing it with french doors? Or removing carpet from stairs and adding oak treads? These are a couple of the things I did in my 60's ranch that added greatly to the appearance and also the resale value but didn't cost a fortune.

I agree with Suzknits1. This kind of stuff is beyond the reach of the ordinary folks who are most likely to be browsing your site. People who can afford this type of woodwork just hire someone to design and do it. Practical ideas for use by ordinary people would provide a service your readers would value. I am currently trying to decide on trim for my home and was hoping for some help here, but afraid not. Beautiful, but completely out of reach.

Although these homes are certainly beautiful, it would be more useful to me to see these architectural details used in a more modest home. Here in the Northeast, these mansions are out of most people's reach!
