Choices for Kitchen Sinks
The benefits of choosing a single-bowl kitchen sink over double-bowl sinks
Benefits of Single Bowl Sinks
The double-bowl sink has long been a kitchen standard, but many people have recently chosen the single life. How do you know whether you're cut out for one bowl?
It's all about lifestyle. Double bowls are obviously best if you do a lot of dishwashing and rinsing by hand, but single bowl sinks may be enough if you just scrape the plates and put them in the dishwasher.
Single-bowl kitchen sinks can also free up much-needed counter space, helping you meet the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommendations of at least 24 inches of countertop on one side of the sink and 18 inches on the other.
Single-bowl sinks are deep enough for rinsing large saucepans or cookie sheets—especially when combined with gooseneck faucets.
