Whether you use it for earning your keep or paying bills, your home office should work smart to help get the job done. These ideas will help you streamline and do a little whistling while you work.
Must everything you use in your office be within reach? Plot spots for your work goods with an eye toward what you use and how often. Storage and surfaces within 30 inches of your desktop should handle most-often-used essentials: paper files, media storage, pens, references, pencils. Goods that are used frequently but not every day can be stashed a step or two away from the desk. Store rarely used items in a more remote zone or, if space is limited, in another area such as a closet.
