Tips for painting kids' rooms
Kids' Rooms
Q: One day I find mud on my son's walls; the next day I discover crayon marks. Is there an easy-to-clean paint that would be good for children's rooms?
A: Sheen is the key factor when choosing paint for kids' rooms. A brighter sheen helps hide handprints and is more durable.
Paint is available in a variety of sheens and finishes—ranging from flat (without shine) to glossy or high-gloss finishes (the shiniest). For long-lasting looks in children's rooms go with at least an eggshell finish that has a slight sheen. Be aware, however, that while brighter sheens are easier to wipe clean, they don't hide imperfections in the walls as well.
In addition, various manufacturers offer paints specifically formulated for easy cleaning.
