Storage Q&A: Home Office Organization
Home Office Storage
Q: My work space is buried in clutter. How do I go about effectively organizing a home office?
A: Because most home offices still haven't achieved a paperless state of mind, follow the "like with like" rule. Empty your drawers, clear your desk, and sort supplies into similar piles. Toss what you no longer use (those bottles of White Out, for instance). When selecting office organizers, choose small trays to hold rubber bands, paper clips, and other diminutive supplies.
If you're short on storage space, find a modest-size rolling cart, stack of drawers, or pull-down shelf to attach under a desk or upper cabinet. That's where you can stash paper, envelopes, folders, discs, and other home office supplies.
