Storage Q&A: Organize a Clothes Closet with Different Sizes
Organizing Different Size Clothes
Q: What if my bedroom closet contains clothes of all different sizes? Many of them don't fit me now, but I'm on a diet.
A: If weight comes off or goes on faster than your clothes can keep up, don't give up hope for having a clean closet. Before you consider hiring a professional closet organizer, set aside an afternoon to try things on, separating them into "too big," "too small," and "just-right" piles. No excuses. Keep only the "just-rights" in your closet, folding and storing the rest in boxes elsewhere.
If you make progress with dieting, reward yourself by opening the too-small box and treating yourself to a "new" outfit. If two years go by and the clothes still don't fit, donate the prepacked containers to your favorite charity with a generous spirit. You can buy new clothes later when you've achieved your weight goal, and they'll be in style.
