Custom Window Shades

When looking for custom solutions for your kitchen windows, consider a Roman shade like this one with fabric strips added to both sides to fit. Or buy a shade that's wider than the window and mount it on the frame.

To create the graphic design on the center of the shade, print the letters (one per page) using a favorite font on your computer. For the silverware, check the Internet or clip-art books for a noncopyright image; enlarge the design on a photocopier. Tape the patterns in place under the shade and trace the outline using a black fabric marker. Shade the designs as needed.
